As a fashion and commercial photographer, editing is as crucial as the actual photo session. Lightroom and Photoshop are the two most popular tools in post-production. Which one, though, ought to be used?

Lightroom: Quick & Effective

Lightroom is perfect for organizing big image collections, color correction, and batch editing. It is ideal for fashion lookbooks, catalog shoots, and campaign selections because of its speed and consistency.

Excellent For:

Quick edits

Color grading

Managing numerous amounts of shootsa

Photoshop: Precision & Management

Photoshop gives you advanced command over pixel-level edits, compositing, and retouching. It has become the top option for detailed commercial work, creative commercials and beauty retouching.

Best For:

Skin retouching

Background cleanup

High-end campaign images

My Process

For selection and color work, I use Lightroom; for final retouching, I use Photoshop. Together, By using both i can provide good and eye catching images.

In conclusion

Lightroom has been a good place to start when editing fast-paced shoots. Use Photoshop for complex, high-end edits. Both have their place, and I, as well as a the majority of professionals, use both.
